Forum: texts Subject: PDF Size and annotation

The PDF compression used by Archive.org is really good. When I annotate a pdf and save with Preview (Mac OSX Lion), the PDF becomes really huge, sometimes 20X the original size. I don't know of a method which achieves such great compression as Archive.org's without compromising the quality, what software and settings are you using? This brings me to another point: I would like to collaborate improving some books, particularly creating PDF index and then uploading again. Is this possible?
